Worms

Worms
BY ANAIS.R

Once along time ago just before dinosaurs giant worms ruled the world but one day they met the dinosaurs who they had a battle with and it turned them small.

They still fought and they tryed and tryed but the dinosaurs were just too big so they gave up on the dinosaurs and there big piece of land.

But what they did do was because they were really small now the all dug holes underground and made there own little world which protected them from the fierce dinosaurs above, and now they are scared of the fierce humans but they are still living there happy life in the dirt and under the grass.

Sand

Tsunami
Have you ever wondered what that lovely light fluffy grainy stuff on the ground, why it is so grainy and hard but then light and soft at the same time. Well you probably don't because I am sorry to say My friend, but sand does not exist so… wait are you a super hero from the future like me who knows what sand is, well if you are you  will enjoy this myth.
Once in the land of Rome 27 BC. Rome has just been discovered and the citizens had a problem. A big tsunami was supposed to hit the main beach of Rome. Lots of citizens had come to the Emperor and told him about the situation. The Emperor said “You are being stupid it is bright and sunny outside, NOW LEAVE!”. The citizens were worried they knew a tsunami was coming but what they did not know was that Prince Orion and his twin Princess Ariel knew the tsunami was coming even though there dad the Emperor did not think so, but the twins had a plan.

The days got colder and the storm blew nearer, the twins walked down the muddy dirt to the water (there was dirt and grass instead of sand at the beach). “The waves are getting bigger” Said Ariel. “I know, but it is okay because we have a plan” Said Orion

The tsunami finally came the next morning, the Emperor was freaking out saying “They were right! they were right!” “Oh no were’s my children!” The Emperor said. He looked out the window and saw all the citizens and his children breaking the Colosseum into big rocks. After that they got big baskets and carried the rocks to the shore and made a big wall to stop the tsunami. And guess what it worked! But at the end the rocks had been destroyed into tiny bits we now call sand.

How kapiti island came to be

The Giant and the Sand. By Anais Robbins

Have you ever wondered what that big island of the coast of waikanae, you do well you should’nt because it hasnt been made yet! Thats right you have all gone back in time!
We start our story in a place that we call Waikanae. In Waikanae there was a group of little kids who go around the small town on the coast and try to get people to help make the new island they made up. The kids called it Kapiti island, all the adults and other kids said there was absouloutly no way that someone could make an island but the group of kids did not belive them.

One day the group of kids were making models of the island in the sand down on the beach when a big cloud came out of no where and a big wave of wind swooped them up into the clouds!

THUMP! They landed with a big thump on the ground. A big giant stood in front of them. ‘I can help you’ said the giant. ‘Iknow how you can make kapiti island, go to the beach and throw as much sand as you can at the sky, you think it will fall back down but it wont i will catch it and make  the island then i will drop it down onto the water.

So the kids did just that and a day after they threw the sand a big island came down and landed on the water. It was amazing it’s green bushes and trees look like lime popsticile sticks, the fresh air an wind rushes down your face like spears in the lovley morning breese. Animals prowling through the bushes to catch there prey And lovely birds playing in the the summer breeze in the after noon. Steep rocks crashing down into the fierce waves is the only sound because up in the trees the birds are sleeping
Down on the ground the wild cats are chasing, stalking and playing in the dark silent night with the glowing moon to gide them. Anyway that is how kapiti island was made…

Oh one more thing the reason it is called Kapiti island is because the leader of the group of kids is a little boy called Kapiti Graham, and his name will be in the New Zealand history book for years to come.

Colour poem

Today i learnt

that the brain uses over a quarter of the oxygen the whole body does

your heart beats around 100000 times a day, 36500000 times a year and over a billion times if you have lived over 30!

infants blink only once or twice a minute when adults blink around 10 times!

One day his house blows down because it is old and he made it (he is not a very good builder!) Then the village helps him and he becomes happy. He still lives on the hill but every Saturday he goes and visits his friend and every Sunday they come visit him. I rate this book a
